L.A. JOINS MALARIA AWARENESS DAY AT TAPUL, SULU(Oct.21,2008)

The Sulu Provincial Government in the presence of Honourable Vice Governor Hja. Nur-Ana I. Sahidulla and Hja. Nurunnisa Tan, wife of Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan, joins the Malaria Awareness Day launched by The Movement Against Malaria and the Tapul Municipal Health Services in Barangay Kalang, Municipality of Tapul, Sulu.

Mayor of Tapul, Honourable Nasser Daud and wife Hja . Dornie Daud warmly welcomed the Vice Governor, Hja. Nurunnisa, IPHO-Sulu headed by Dra. Farah T. Omar, and the Medical-Dental Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) Team. 

Honourable Mayor Daud,  Vice Mayor Hji. Jamil Alih and barangay captains of different barangays of Tapul participated in the program launched by honourable Vice Governor Lady Ann, Hja Nurunnisah Tan and the IPHO-Sulu.  The medicine for filariasis was then first taken by Honourable Mayor Daud to show and encourage his constituents that the medicine is safe to drink. The barangay captains present in the program also took the medicine in support of the program.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Vice Governor Lady Ann and Hja. Nurunnisah distributed rice and goods to the locals of Tapul while the MEDCAP team conducted free medical and dental check-up, free circumcisions and medicines.
According to the lady Vice Governor, the Sulu Provincial Government is not hesitant to help all the municipalities of Sulu who are in need of doctors and medicines, for the IPHO and RHU of different municipalities hand in hand participate with the Sulu Government.  Lady Ann also points out that politics must be set aside for the welfare of the tausugs.

The Medical Team composes of doctors, nurses of IPHO SULU and rural health unit heads of the municipality of Jolo and Tapul District.
