VICE GOVERNOR NUR-ANA “ Lady Ann” INDANAN SAHIDULLA, Al- Haj

Honorable Hja. Nur-Ana “Lady Ann” Indanan Sahidulla was born on September 21, 1959 in Pasil, Indanan, Sulu. While in her teens, she first graduated her Elementary Grade at Reohondo Elementary School. Finished her High School at Southern City Colleges, and took her Associate Degree in Secretarial Course in 1977.

In 1980, she finished her Bachelor of Science in Commerce at Zamboanga AE Colleges. Later in 1998, she finished her Bachelor of Arts major in Mass Communication at Western Mindanao State University, Zamboanga City.

Hja. Sitti Rashidam Indanan, and the late Hji. Omar Suhaili were the proud parents of their two beautiful daughters namely Hja. Nur- Ana Indanan-Sahidulla (married to Hji. Abdulwahid O. Sahidulla, Mayor of the municipality of Banguingui) and her sister  Hja. Delna Indanan-Hassan (married to Assemblyman Hji. Alhabsi Hassan).

Lady Ann and Hji. Abdulwahid were blessed with four siblings namely Hja. Nurwiza "Twinkle" Sahidulla-Tulawie (married to Muammar Tulawie), Hji.Abdelwasey "Nike" Indanan Sahidulla (married to Hja. Rania A. Sahidulla), Hji. Mohammad Wajid "Jhed"Indanan Sahidulla (married to Hja. Natashia H. Sahidulla) and her youngest daughter Hja. Nurwina Christine "Winnie" Indanan Sahidulla.

“Lady Ann” as everyone fondly called her is a professional Composer, Singer with her own personal LA Dancers and LA Band.  She was invited to China in 1980 to perform the Folk Dance “PANGALAY”.

Lady Ann founded the Anak Ilo Foundation Incorporated in 1995.

In July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2004, Lady Ann was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Banguingui Sulu formerly Tongkil and awarded as the Most Outstanding Mayor. She was undefeated for two consecutive terms. She then run for Vice Governatorial in 2004 and won as the first Woman Vice Governor in the Province of Sulu.

In August of the same year she was chosen as Chairman on Socio Cultural Heritage during the National Assembly of the Vice Governor’s League of the Philippines.

With the coordination of Media Affairs Manila, based on their research and evaluation for the excellent performance coupled with hardwork, honesty, integrity and efficiency, the Vice Governor got an exemplary public service award as the Most Outstanding Vice Governor in the Country.

She is the only public official chosen by Regional Governor Farouk Hussin to participate on the Socio-Economic Development Seminar in Japan in 2004, sponsored by JICA. 

She is the Chairman of the Philippine National Red Cross, Sulu Chapter from 2004 up to the Present.

During the Centennial Observance of the infamous Bud Daho massacre in the Province of Sulu, Lady Ann joined the group to climb the Patikul hills and Bud Dahu.

Lady Ann is the organizer of the Shootfest competition for the entire Sulu. 

She was ordained as the Princess of the Pearl of the Orient by our own Paramaount Sultan Shakirulla Bahjin himself and by the Royal Family from Shantong China, the descendant of late Datu Batara Paduka who visited the tomb of their ancestors at Bud Datu in 2005.

Various Activities, MEDCAP, Relief Operations which the Vice Governor actively joined in coordination with the American Visiting Forces in supporting and promoting the good image of Sulu. 

It is thru her initiative that the building of the BLOOD BANK of the Philippine National Red Cross was made possible and raised for the benefits of the Suluanos.

Lady Ann was re- elected Vice Governor in 2007. Following her unanimous election, various Relief Operations were conducted to remote areas and the adjacent Municipalities of Sulu like; Bato-Bato, Indanan, Silangkan, Siyunugan, Siit, Panamao, Bitanag, Lower and Upper Patibulan, Kan Nas Sali, Maimbung , Patikul, Siasi and other barangays. 

She is the only Lady public official who betrothed and asked for the Ceasefire in Tubba Lubbok Pangutaran Sulu last summer 2008 while in the hit of war between the feudal families of Pangutaran.  She is an Advocate of Peace & Justice and Negotiator in her own right.

Honorable Vice Governor Hja. Nur-Ana I. Sahidulla, is a Woman of Faith, justice, strength and equality.
